Gleistein extends partnership with the Danish Sailing Association until 2029

Gleistein and the Danish Sailing Association have signed a four-year extension of their partnership, continuing a close collaboration with a strong focus on delivering world-class rope solutions for both elite and leisure sailors.

The German rope manufacturer will remain the official supplier to the Danish Sailing Association and the Danish Sailing Team through 2029. The new agreement builds on an already strong relationship, further expanding the scope of collaboration. Later this year, new initiatives will be introduced to bring Gleistein’s products and expertise even closer to local clubs and sailors across Denmark.

We have built a strong dialogue and a partnership we are proud to carry forward. Gleistein’s ropes make a real difference for our national team sailors when results are decided on the smallest of margins. At the same time, we are excited to unveil new initiatives in the coming months that will benefit all members of clubs under the Danish Sailing Association, says Anders Kristensen, CEO of the Danish Sailing Association.

Joint development

The partnership is not only about supply, but also about active product development.

At the elite level, margins are small, which makes rope qualities such as grip, stretch and durability crucial. National team sailors test the products under the most demanding conditions and provide continuous feedback, enabling Gleistein to fine-tune and further develop its products helping to place its ropes among the strongest on the market.

Gleistein also welcomes the extended agreement and sees it as a natural step in a close and ambitious collaboration:

Gleistein is proud to continue its long-standing partnership with the Danish Sailing Association. Over the past many years we have built strong personal relations and trust. Together we are extremely ambitious and find our connection to be the ideal setting to continuously refine our racing ropes under high-performance conditions in pursuit of the perfect line, says Klaus Walther, Managing Director, Gleistein.

With the agreement, the foundation is set for four more years of joint development to the benefit of both the top level and sailing club members of Danish Sailing Association.

Facts
Through the partnership, the Danish Sailing Team and Gleistein have developed RunnerTwin Olympic. A rope that sets new standards in the industry. Strong enough to withstand the toughest conditions over multiple seasons, it is a clear example of how the collaboration between Gleistein and the Danish Sailing Association translates into concrete results.
