Gleistein sets new standards with its textile stringing lines

As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-performance rope systems, Gleistein presents its first special catalogue dedicated to textile cable-pulling ropes. In overhead high-voltage power line construction, high-end fibre rope solutions are no longer merely an alternative to wire rope – they are redefining the market.

Gleistein’s textile cable-pulling ropes are up to 90% lighter than wire ropes, corrosion-free and extremely abrasion-resistant. They offer significant advantages in terms of occupational safety, handling, and service life. The catalogue brings together the complete portfolio for all cable pull applications – from drum and capstan winches to innovative methods such as drone- or helicopter-based stringing. The following products are examples that illustrate the wide range of products available:

FlyOne: Ultra-light rope with minimal elongation and outstanding strength. Ideal for drone-based operations.

HeliOne: Lightweight yet robust pilot rope for helicopter-assisted installation. High flexibility and visual torsion indication thanks to its distinctive striped design.

StringTwin: Thermally stretched core combined with a tough polyester cover durability and excellent cross-sectional stability. Optimised for double-capstan and drum winches.

All ropes can be customised and are optionally available with an integrated sand filter. The portfolio is complemented by tailor-made end connections, inspection and repair services, and comprehensive, continuous lifecycle management. Gleistein supports its customers throughout the entire lifecycle of a rope – from selecting the optimal rope through to end-of-life.

“Our customers face increasingly complex challenges – longer routes, higher pulling forces, and new stringing methods,” says Klaus Walther, Managing Director at Gleistein. “With our textile cable-pulling ropes, we deliver high-performance products and complete system solutions that sustainably improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.”
